Free Help Designing Online Lessons

Here are some of the things the team at Constructive Learning Design is hearing from teachers and coaches these days:

“I know how to do ____________in person. How do I do ____________ remotely?”

“How should I handle a hybrid schedule? Do I teach the virtual kids and the in-person kids the same things?”

“We know how to do PBL. We just don’t know how to do it in this format.”

“I don’t want to retreat to lecture, but I haven’t figured out how to engage students online.”

“How do I build relationships online?”

While there are no easy answers to these questions, we’ve designed a simple service to support individual teachers and small groups (PLCs, grade level teams, etc.) in designing learning experiences that work for their current situations, while also providing teachers with strategies and tools that will help them in the future, regardless of what it looks like.

Here’s How It Works

1. Share a lesson, activity, project, or idea.

An individual teacher or small group of teachers (PLCs, grade level team, etc.) share a lesson or project with one of our coaches. It could be something originally taught in person that you would like to adapt for a remote or blended setting. It might also be a brand new lesson or project idea.

2. Co-Plan with one of our coaches.

We will schedule a 60 to 90 minute Zoom call with one of our coaches to create a lesson or project custom designed for your current setting.

3. Reflect, report, look ahead.

After you have taught your new lesson or project. We will meet again to discuss what worked, what didn’t, and what’s next.

4. (Optional) Virtual classroom visit, and/or co-teaching session.

Our coaches are also available to virtually visit your classrooms in order to co-facilitate or model part of the lesson.
