Bio

Katie Bolick is an instructional coach with 28 years of teaching experience. She has served as both a science content coach and a general coach. She has Project-Based Learning training through the Buck Institute, and Transformational Learning Communities training through School Reform Initiative. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS degree in science. In 2009 she became a National Board Certified teacher, and was named Teacher of the Year at North Surry High School in 2010. Katie served as an instructional coach and teacher at North Surry before retiring in 2014. Her coaching passions include working with beginning teachers, inquiry-based learning, and increasing student engagement in the classroom through differentiated instruction.
